Clicking on "join the meeting" on the university's site opens a pop-up asking if I allow the site to open Skype, I click open and it works. The fun starts when I tried visiting university's test meeting again -> It works fine! The structure of the URL is exactly the same! "/?sl=1", but both look different. Now, a colleague got a link to a Skype call by one of our customers, but instead of getting in using new Edge, he got the infamous "install the Web App" dialogue, which, when he does so simply opens a new tab whose URL ends with "uninstall=1", which is a clear indicator, that something went wrong. Usually when installing the Web App for colleagues, I have to log in as an admin, visit the University of Iowa's Skype Test Meeting site, install the web app, test it in Edge and everything works fine for me and when the regular user logs in without admin privileges. Firefox doesn't like it at all since some months or a year ago and I have already tested it some time ago with the new chromium based Edge.

This time, my problem revolves around the Skype For Business Web App and its many weird facettes of not working, not gettings installed and/or a combination of both.įirst off: it used to work with the old MS Edge browser.
